When we started this blog, my idea was to do a summary post every week or so, covering what happened, where we went, what we did, and what we saw. If you look over the past posts, you can easily see that it hasn’t happened that way.
We have stayed at the nice, homey Flying W RV Ranch in Tubac, Arizona for the last six weeks or so (last part of February, March and some of April). It’s quiet here this time of year; it’s mostly been cool and sunny– perfect!
When I was very young (4?) my dad and I traveled a lot by car across Texas. He had leased a bunch of scales (the kind where you put in a nickel and get your weight and fortune told.)
After leaving Desi’s house (and our questionable parking in her yard) in early March, we made our way to Georgia to hang out and explore until the Handcrafted Soap and Cosmetic Guild Conference in Tampa in May.
Today is our 1 year anniversary as a full-time RVers. In all my life, I never thought that would be something I would actually say! It’s been an interesting and amazing year, what with letting go of the past, enjoying the present and looking forward to the future.
Asheville was the start of our journey up the Blue Ridge Parkway. It’s stunningly beautiful with amazing views and is well maintained, but isn’t the easiest driving in a large RV with a “toad” (tow vehicle).
Continuing our sojurn across the US, we said good-bye to Gaily, Jackie and Stan on December 4th and started our trek east toward Clearwater for Christmas.
We had an invitation for Thanksgiving with friends in eastern Texas, but we still had almost two weeks to make our way across that very large state.
At the end of October, we were relaxing in the desert north of Truth or Consequences, New Mexico, but on the 2nd of November it was time to move on.
Yes, I realize that it is already April 2016, but I promised that I would post updates on our trip and so I shall. October started out with us leaving Pahrump, NV on October 2nd and heading off to Las Vegas. We pulled up by the Allure Wedding Chapel and proceeded to GET MARRIED!
